The big news in Skaana-land this month is the release of Octopus Ocean: Geniuses of the Deep. I’ll dive deeper into octopuses - and the book - soon but, for now, I’m kicking off this month’s ocean news with a teaser from a story/interview about Octopus Ocean from Psychology Today
Octopuses are amazing beings who are receiving increasing attention in scientific and popular press because they are so different from us and many other nonhuman animals (animals). I find it somewhat difficult to keep up with what we're learning about these big-brained, deeply sentient, highly emotional, eight-legged, blue-blooded animals and was thrilled to read octopus expert Mark Leiren-Young's new highly acclaimed, beautifully illustrated book Octopus Ocean: Geniuses of the Deep. While Mark wrote the book for youngsters, I learned something new on just about every page so I highly recommend this fact-filled book to people of all ages.
