Sharks Don't Want to Eat You, But the Do Want you to Buy My Books
Skaana With Mark Leiren-Young. And sharks, salmon, octopus and - of course - orcas!!!
We’re back…
Our latest episode and kick off to our 2023 season features a reading from my new book Sharks Forever and a new title.
We are now Skaana with Mark Leiren-Young
Why?
'cause when we started looking at some of the top-rated podcasts in Science and Nature (which we've been before and plan to be again - we’re already back up to #23 in Nature in Canada!) a whole lot of them listed the hosts in their branding.
Also... we're running into Skaana fans and friends - and fans of my recent books - who know how to spell my name, but keep asking "what's your podcast called?"
Also... we wanted to declare this a new season because we're going to be getting both busier and more eclectic.
Working on my new book about octopuses means I'm talking to some serious octopus teachers - and trying to score an interview with the guy who stars in My Octopus Teacher.
The shark book means I've now entered the world of sharks and I’m working to help Team Sharkwater.
And we're applying for funding from several sources to do some major new work around the orcas who own us... the southern residents.
As always, none of this happens without you.
So please share the Skaana episodes and stories that excite you.
Up soon... audio-willing... my interview with Jonathan Mesulam (above) who is leading the fight against Deep Sea Mining in New Guinea and my interview with Howard Garrett from the Orca Network on the legacy of his brother, Ken Balcomb.
